About Me

Kaarel Kõrvemaa has focused on retail, public sector, insurance, financial services, auditing, advisory services, construction, and service industries. Majority of his career is based on consulting and specializing in data platforms and end user solutions. His skills have proven to work between business and IT. Kaarel’s know how to create value from data and also convince IT leaders to make investments. I'am involved in establishing the architectural setup for efficient data sharing with a large number of vendors. My responsibilities include working with the data modeling team and providing guidance on best practices. We have developed a data sharing platform specifically designed for external users. As part of this role, I am focused on building data products tailored for external users, enabling collaboration, and facilitating proactive interaction with the data.

In my role as a cloud architect, I was responsible for designing and implementing a platform that establishes a connection between an on-premises infrastructure and the cloud environment. This platform involved setting up two databases one located in the cloud utilizing Snowflake, and another on-premises utilizing SQL Server. The databases served different purposes based on their security requirements. The cloud-based Snowflake database was utilized for storing data that didn't have stringent security requirements. On the other hand, the on-premises SQL Server database was specifically designated for housing sensitive data that required robust security measures.
